Subject:   Is This Idle Stabilizer Really Necessary?
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

In the course of rebuilding the engine in my '80 Westy, the mechanic tried reconnecting the idle stabilizer, which had been bypassed since before I bought it. Apparently it doesn't work. The engine seems to run well without it. Is it worth the trouble and expense of replacing it? --Eric Ogden, UT The Westy Formerly Known as The Vanagon Valdiz
