I break sockets occasionally because i use 'em 10 hours a day, 6 days a week, and have lots of impact tools. No, i don't use chrome sockets on the impact guns. Haven't managed to break a wrench yet. I do know several other mechanics who bought ridiculously big toolboxes, at $13,000+ (empty) that will take them years to fill. Just like guys who buy Vipers, Cigarette boats, trophy wives, whatever. I've found a good rule of thumb for tools: if i need to borrow it twice in a month from someone, i go buy it. Otherwise, i don't need it. If you compare Snap-On wrenches to the fully polished Craftsman wrenches of similar size, they're not that much more - most people compare the cheap rough-finished ones to the fully polished ones that are lots easier to clean and don't rust. - Ed
