I have a 1983 watercooled and my gas milleage is down to 10 mph, my air/fuel ratio is between 9 and10(should be 14.7). The only spec I've found so far that is off is the fuel pressure reading. It is .5 Bar(aprox 7 psi) too high at idle, both with the fuel pressure regulator vac line on and off(actual reading 2.5 Bar and 3.0 Bar). I've also checked with the fuel return line disconnected(to make sure a restriction wasn't causing this problem), and the fuel pressure is still .5 Bar too high. My question is whether .5 Bar(7 psi) is enough of a different to make the engine(1.9L) run so rich. I'd appreciate any ideas or suggestions about this problem. John |
