Thanks for the reply Scott. Bob Donalds and I talked for a while on this
subject. When I pulled the valve, I stuck it on the end of a rod and brought
it up and down in the area it travels in. All seems fine with it. The new
piston and spring should arrive today via mail and I'm going to repeat the
procedure. Unless the new spring is much stiffer than my old spring, I'm
doubting much difference in the oil pressure behavior, that kinda sucks,
since the oil pressure isn't where I want it when the oil is hot. Of
course, as stated before, the gauge could very well be off!
