Too many short trips will keep the engine from getting hot enough to evaporate gas out of the crankcase. Small amounts of gas will always leak past the rings. This will be worse if the engine is running very rich for some reason, but this should also cause poor gas mileage. If the old oil seems much thinner than the new, perhaps there is some reason to worry. Larry A. |
