Well a simple but foolproof way is to look at the spark plugs ...if you're running rich then they'll be dark brown. If they are white'ish ...your too lean. A very pale brown is correct. Take a look at a haynes manual ..for any car...they have a nice colour photo showing the different colours to be found. his is actually a very good diagnostic method. Remember to look at all the plugs because it's possible to be runnign rich, lean or burning oil in different cylinder for example due to air leaks or engine faults.
