Hi Chad,

I don't think your mechanic would agree to setting it at 6 degrees before TDC anyway, because he would be held liable for possible damages.

He may agree to set it a couple degrees ahead of stock?

A vanagon would be a good canidate to learn mechanics on. But the aircooled VW's that I learned on are cheaper and didn't have water cooling to mess with when I had to pull the engines to fix my screw-ups.
