it is easier to search the archives by email. The web based system is
really slow. send an email to listserv@gerry.vanagon.com with the body
like this:
search oil filter in vanagon
end

in this case i searched for "oil filter:. The "end" is so the program
ignores signatures and other stuff after the 'end'
