WHoa Blake, yes there is an indentation... look closely! The old sometimes blends in. My old rings had blackened with age. Run a pick along the edge. Clean the area out good. Use a red scotchbrite pad from the hardware store. As for the had sealant, you shouldn't be in too big of a rush, It takes almost a day to put the exhaust on and hook it all back up sometimes. Let it sit for 24hours. Just make sure to mind the torque specs. Don't add too little or too much of the so-called "goo". Brian Cochran 84 westy WA

green o-rings: where are these supposed to go? I guess I'm supposed to put the metal rings into my head, and then the o-rings sit between the jugs and the metal rings on the heads. But there is no "indention" on the cylinders to put the rings on the jugs. What am I missing?

2- Do I need to let the "goop" sit for a day or so before I start putting everything else back on (exhaust, etc), or can I start cranking on the heads right away?

I'm sure I'll have more questions later, thanks, Blake
