Some dashboard removal enthusiasts remove the shear head fasteners by biting
into the thin edge on the circumference of the head with a pair of
Vice-Grips.  If you can get a pair of Vice-Grips to grip this minimal
surface, go for it.  I prefer to cut a slot across the head with a small,
thin abrasive wheel (1 - 2 inches on the diameter) then back them out with a
fair sized straight bladed screwdriver.  This way, if you are really cheap or
lazy, you can even use them again.
