hey volks,

well, i've tried to sell my '85 westy at least twice in the past year, and always end up not being able to do it. i love what it does but am completely frustrated how it does it. my two big gripes and the typical, power and fuel consumption. i've actually looked for a new vehicle to replace it, but can't find one. i owned a eurovan camper (winnie) for about a year but it too got bad gas mileage, tho' it did have plenty of power. i can no longer afford one anyway, so...

so what have some of you done to address this? i've heard of subaru engine conversions and such. has anyone actually done this and been driving for awhile with one? power? mpg? also, any other conversions out there. i would certainly have to hire someone to do it as i don't have the time or inclination. i'm in socal (la) if anyone knows of anyone who does this type of thing.

any input appreciated!

thanks,

tony
