[snip]

Our '88 Wolfie was named 'Muriel' by Lynda shortly after we got her. However, potholed roads here in Ireland have taken their toll & soon Muriel needed a complete front-end job (so to speak!). New track rods, ends, A/R bushings, upper control arm bushings, bearings, tie rod bushings, a new set of tyres & an alignment & all is well again. Camber settings were off a full half-turn on one side & my nice MXTs were worn down to the wire on the inside tread. *ack!*

Before this lot was done, steering had become ... errm ... 'unpredicatable', to say the least! Thus, our van got the name "Wanderly Wagen" & the name has stuck ever since. "Wanderley Wagon" was the name of a TV series from my childhood. All 30-something Irish folks will know it. Here's a fan site: http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/rlogue/wander.htm

Our new '71 Westy is known as "Mary" due to the license plate; "64 MRI". Our 2-year-old calls it "Mary-bus" ... 8-) We nearly poisioned ourselves over the weekend by test-driving with a busted heat exchanger. Had to drive the 1/4 mile home again with the doors open!
