The cover is held on with silicone caulk. Tale a large flat-bladed screwdriver and VERY gently and SLOWLY pry up on the edge of the cover. If you use too much force you will break the plastic. By working your way around the edges and slowly lifting you will eventually break the seal and be able to lift the cover off.
