Those are good trannies. Try to steamclean exterior to determine the source of the leak, most likely some rubber seal or gasket. When you drive it spreads all over, picks up the dirt and hard to find. By now all seals should be replaced. Don't replace tranny just because it is old. Good luck Leon 85 Subwagen Westy
