I had a similar problem with my '84 Vanagon recently. Check your trannie fluid - mine was leaking like a SOB.

On that note - anyone have a transmission dipstick tube they'd like to sell? I'm currently waiting on a backordered part from Deutschland...

Karl.

Oh, it's an automatic and not manual transmission. I forgot to mention that.

Hi all,

I'm currently have a 'situation' with my 87 Wolfsburg. I'll be driving and come to a full stop or even a rolling stop. When I step on the accelerator, the van doesn't move forward instantly. It feels like it's not engaged, then suddenly it engages, the van lurches forward as i'm stepping on the gas and I'm off going again. The strange thing is it doesn't happen all the time when I've stopped at a stop sign or signal (full stop or rolling stop). Any ideas as to the cause? Is this a transmission problem?

Thanks, Durby 87 Wolfsburg Vanagon
