I just replaced the broke rear springs on a 82 Westy with a pair from the scrap yard, same year. Pretty much brought it back to level front to back but now am wondering how those list members of the airlift springs ever got them in. At least in the 82 there is this bumper thing that is inside of the coil. There is only about 3 inches between the end of the rubber and the metal bumper on the bottom. I am assuming the air lift bag goes inside or between the coils. Do later models have this bumper or is there a bigger gap between the rubber and the stop? If the air bag goes between the bumpers does the air bag just get squished? X82 Westy |
