Cory,

Boston Bob comes to mind. If you have not heard of him, he does meticulous WBX rebuilds. Although I have never used his services, I have a good friend who is most particular about what goes into his van. He recently had a Boston Bob rebuild installed and he is more than pleased with the outcome. Also, my buddy said that Boston Bob never hesitated to talk to him about any aspect of the Vanagon's care and feeding. If he does not do prepurchase inspections he will most likely be able to head you in the right direction. You can link to his website through vanagon.com.
