Subject: Stuck in gear - Help!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

My '85 Westy is stuck in 4th gear. Thought it was shifter linkage trouble as the plastic gimball that the shifter pivots about broke - replaced it, but shifter won't budge - stuck in 4th. Can't crawl under car to look at linkage (auto accident in another car two weeks ago - still very sore & bruised) - does anybody know if this might be a dead tranny or is there something in the linkage under the car that might jamb up? Shifter moves up and down when plastic gimball was out - but wouldn't budge in the other two axis. Anybody got any ideas?
