Subject: Coolant Pressure, was:High temp in the thermostat ?
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Hi List,

Thanks for all the insight and encouragement on this job !

My High temp issue was resolved today after another bleed. Drove around and dropped off some some old coolant and oil to be recycled, hit 55-60 and the needle hung right in the middle !

Ok I know no new discoveries in vanagon history here. However, when I got to where I was going I noticed leaking from the radiator. Darn the bottom hose seems a bit crusty and seems to be the culprit. What I thought was strange was, when I got home it wasn't just the radiator hose leaking but the coolant expansion tank was leaking out of it's side and it seemed rather vigorously bubbling in there.

Coincidence or could there be a pressure problem that is causing these week links to go. Well time to realy check the hoses and order more.

Thanks for reading, have a good weekend Volks!
