All this talk of the inadequacies of a stock 2.1L makes me wonder why I was ever issued a ticket by a PA state cop for going 91 MPH in one. Instead of congratulating me for having the fastest Vanagon of the day, he wrote me up for exactly whatever his radar gun had displayed. Perhaps having 180 Kmi. on its clock made the van loose enough that it has gained gobs of power. Or, perhaps I am hallucinating. If so, why do I have this receipt for a fine of $293, why do I have a letter from the PA DOT demanding my license for 30 days and, worst of all, why does my wife get so bitchy whenever I go over 75 MPH?

These rocket powered vans remind me of the time I was at an ice rink where I ran into my kid brother. He has played hockey since his conception, so he is pretty good on the ice. I, on the other, have been on skates perhaps a half dozen miserable times in my life. At one point, I managed to breeze past him and as I did, I said in a voice loud enough for all to hear,"Hey! I am even faster than you!" The smartass punk replied in an equally loud voice, "But, I can stop!"

Still, I have not dismissed the Subaru Solution, but considering the weak solutions I have seen to some very real problems all I can say at this point is: if you plan to get into a pissing contest with someone, make sure your fly is first unzipped.
