Help! I took my perfectly running van and messed up the basic timing. What marks do you use to align the cam ? I tried to align it with the v mark inscribed on the case near/behind the tensioner pulley using the dot on the sprocket and again using the I/O mark. I have the crank @ #1 TDC, and the distributor pointed to # 1. The best I could do with all my experimenting was a flame thrower with out getting it to start. The Haynes Jetta book doesn't show our head/block. I'm going nut, we are suppose to leave on a trip tomorrow. Any help please write asap or call me collect if you know for sure at 815-784-3476.
