"and just paint them black." that's what i did, mine weren't 'dull chrome' they were 'bright rust orange'. model airplane paint works well. and my windsheid seems to be lacking it's chrome strip,... and it hasn't fallen out yet.. so... i dunno really, i'd rather have it, just painted black. anyone know of a good paint to paint the metal frame around the sliding windows in the center of the vanagon? the surrounding chrome on all the other windows is painted black and this one chrome spot sticks out like a sore thumb,so to speak.
