After all is said and done, I decided I couldn't justify the extra $1000 for the TIICO kit, so I ordered an engine with ported and polished heads from Boston Bob. He's supplying a clutch, I'm going to get a complete coolant hose kit, a new coolant distributor and a fuel line kit. My mechanic is doing the work, but while everything is out, can anyone suggest other things that would be easier, or should be done at the same time? I can think of cleaning all of the grounds in the engine compartment and replacing any worn belts, but that's about it. One other possibility would be putting in the extensionfor an oil pressure gauge while the engine is easily accessible, even if I don't connect one right away. If I did, would it be best to use the flexible line, or use some brass fittings? Any suggestions gratefully accepted!
