I am having a fight with my 82 aircooled westy. I have a hesitation or miss while I am steadily going up through the gears. I was told by a mechanic who was checking my CO that I needed a new AFM. I got a rebuilt unit & the problem is still there. After I got the new AFM the mechanic set the CO to 1% but it almost seems too lean. I am idling slow, rough & hesitating on acceleration. Once up to speed it seems to drive fine. I have done the full tuneup & all part are new. Plug, points, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, all filters, temp sensor. I am getting a little frustrated. I have no vacuum leaks. My compression is 110PSI all around. Any ideas? Thanks. Pat Callaghan 82 Westy Portland, OR. http://www.users.qwest.net/~patcal |
