Accessed fine as of today (Friday) at 11:34 Central Time. You can try to narrow down your problem (it may be with your ISP or the backbone provider that provides your ISP with bandwidth) by using a 'traceroute' utility to see if there is an intermediate step (hop) between you and vanagon.com that is not functioning. If this problem has been ongoing for a few days and you haven't been able to reach the site in a while, drop me a note, and I'll try to help you find the problem. (I work with this sort of thing fairly often.)

However, were you aware that Listserv itself can give you access to the archives through e-mail?

A simple single-keyword search that will get you started:

Issue the command (to listserv@gerry.vanagon.com, NOT to the vanagon@ address!!) of:

search table in vanagon

(put the command in the body of your e-mail, not in the subject line.)

Then place an 'end' on a separate line if you have a signature, because the server will try to execute every line in your sig as an instruction.

Then, when you get a list of messages, issue:

getpost vanagon 01 02 03 04 (etc) to retreive the item numbers in question.

See the document ftp://gerry.vanagon.com/pub/listserv/searching.txt for more (access by pasting the URL into a web browser or opening an FTP session, anonymous, to gerry,vanagon,com, then cd /pub/listserv, then get listserv.txt)

Disclaimer: I've never tried this personally in the 'real world' on any list using any listserv, so I believe these instructions are good, but you may want to RTFM. :)

===== ... knee-deep in the hoopla ...
