Thanks for all of the responses. Here's the list of items suggested -

Water Pump and Thermostat

Replace the O2 Sensor

New Engine mounts

New Thermostat Housing and Coolant Distributor (the plastic gets old)

Clean the mounting surface where the starter goes into the housing

Pull the axles and re-grease the CV joints

Clean and paint the engine compartment

They all make sense. We'll see how much of that gets done! :-)

This is something a lot of us are interested in. You would do a great service by keeping track of your expenses and sharing that with the list when you are complete. In the real world that most of us live in only minor repairs are accomplished at home and anything major is left to the "professionals" so your total cost including labor is the usefull figure.

<snip>

I'll do that. I should be able to give a complete list of parts and labor hours as well as a total cost figure. Bob Donalds said this morning that he would ship the engine today. Ken Wilfey is shipping the hose kit, fuel line, thermostat housing and coolant distributor.

If I'm lucky, I'll be able to break this in on my week off (Game Faire in Spokane on 28 April, followed by a trip to Seattle and then Vancouver for V-Con)

Bob Donald's web site says to stay at 55 or below for the first 1000 miles. Could be a really long drive to Seattle!
