I've recently replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. They are all like new with about 1,000 miles on them. It accellerates poor and unevenly. Low in the RPMs during the accelleration curve it has very low power, then it hits a certain RPM where the power seems to nearly double. It does this most evidently when the engine is colder and warming up. (Not stone cold, and not so much when it's at normal operating temperature.

check your throttle position switches ... if they're off a bit, it might do that. don't see how you can tell that it's only doing "one cylinder", though ... any electrical misfire will make it stumble like that. i kinda doubt the fuel pump or the injectors. and a vacuum leak should make it worse when you accelerate or idle. i'd suspect an electrical problem, something like the idle stabilizer or throttle position switches or the rotor/distributor .... which brings to mind that little black plug in the side of the distributor. check and see if it's cracked or loose.

good luck! joel
