Without the "END"?! That would explain the full mailbox. Oh well... (Once again thanks to all who responded, even if I did log out and hit the road before all the wisdom arrived...) Ben, sorry I missed you in SF but thanks for the (thankfully, unneeded) offer of aid. Trip report to follow in due time.

--Eric Ogden, Utah The '80 Westy Formerly Known as the Vanagon Valdiz Californicated over 2300 miles in 7 days, without significant problems :-) Cyl. head temp. usually 275F under load, measured at #3 Sparkplug. 2 peaks of 300F, ~30 sec ea. Credit Bugg Craft in Ogden UT with the rebuild.
