Patti, I am not familiar with a "Mark III" designation, but Vanagons have been in the States from 1980 to 1991 and all 1985's were water-cooled. Parts are available obviously from the dealers, but cheaper and just as good (better?) are parts from many aftermarket suppliers, many on this list, two of which are: http://www.busdepot.com/Default.htm and http://www.vanagain.com/

There is also lots of info at: http://www.vanagon.com/ the parent of this mailing list.

Maybe someone on the list will be able to recommend a good mechanic in your area. Good luck,

Help. Please! I own a 1985 Volkswagon Vanagon Mark III. I am having trouble finding parts for her. Seems 85 Vanagons aren't suppose to be in the States. She is an water cooled engine with an automatic trans. Right now she's up on blocks needing brake parts that fit her. She is the first VW I've owned. I live in northeast Oklahoma about 60 miles north of Tulsa, OK. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks. Patti
