Why bother to pull them out? Mine were slightly cracked which let the chrome get rusty & ugly. Just go to your local hobby store and get some Model Master flat black enamel paint, thin it about 70% paint, 30% thinner and brush on a few coats of the black paint. Unless you are up clse and nit-picking - the 'ugly chrome window strips" magically vanish and you have euro black window rubber. Cost is about $4.00 versus a bunch more.
