<P>I've removed the one on the intention of replacing it. Over a year has gone by without leaks and such, but it does make a difference! The window does "sag" a little farther into the body frame. The rubber does lose some of it's thickness, so FYI. But like I said, it doesn't seem to affect much. Although, I'm not about to go and yank the windshield/rear window strips!</P>

<DIV></DIV>>I'm going to pull them this sunday, so I don't know how hard it will be, although I don't think I'll need more that about 15 minutes and a pair of pliers. I thought about the painting idea, but I'm too anal to go that route. They'd still bug me. Some people suggested that the chrome strip helps to re-enforce the molding, but nobody's totally sure about that.

<DIV></DIV>>Yeah! I know what you mean. I just replaced all of mine. I got the strips from the "Bus Depot" BUT the proper tool is a must. I used the "window locking strip tool" #LS-758 from Equalizer. www.equalizer.com It cost $15.95 but saved me many times that just in frustration. My westy looks great now.
