The table latch in our Wolfsburg was stuck when we bought it. The new one
the dealer installed worked fine for a few months or a year... then becane
stuck just like the old one.
When pryed open, the latch was kinda ruined. I replaced it with a small,
strong magnet from an old hard disk, on one part, a flat steel plate on the
other side, also from the hard disk. Now it works the way it spozta. Never
releases while driveing, always releases when tugged on.

I've been trying to access the archives through Vanagon.com for a couple of
days.  No go.  Is the server down?
I wanted to look for posted messages about how to free a table that's stuck
down.  The latch won't release.  Anyone know the secret?
