Well, I finished my heads a couple weeks ago. As I reported, everything seemed great except I had a rough idle. Well today I played around with trying to find a vacuum leak, testing my timing and the like. I might have found something aweful: While running the engine to look at the timing, I noticed a bit of liquid dripping out the tailpipe. I thought "gas?" or "condensation?" Didn't feel like either. Then I notice that the coolant resevoir (the one behind the license plate) was empty. Thats when I thought "coolant F@#$ !". So, I'm still not completely sure, but what else could it be. So, now I'm thinking that I must have messed up the green O-rings when I put on the heads. Or, maybe the O-rings on the block side of the cylinders are messed up. So, now the big questions: 1) how do I tell what the problem is? 2) how do I tell where the problem is? 3) assuming I am right, how do I tell which O-rings are messed up (the ones toward the block or the ones toward the head)?
