I installed a computer CPU fan on one wall of my refrigerator (double sided tape on the back of the heat sink) and put 12v to it with a switch. It's a great little recirculating fan. Cheap too about 3-6 dollars, if it quits, so what. The wires are very thin and you can just close the door on them, they're hooked up to the same connectors that power the potable water pump. I usually put a tupperware container in the fridge with ice in it as a booster to bring down the starting temperature when beginning a trip, after running the frige on AC prior to leaving. The only trick is always pick a tupperware container that doesn't steal all of your space. I sometimes just use a #3 greenbean can or whatever I have room for, it just really doesn't matter, just this small thing of recirculating the air and the ice will make a considerable difference in the performance of your fridge. Freezing a few 12 oz bottles of drinking water works just as well, just make shure that they aren't split from the freezing when you put them in. Most times you can leave the fridge off while driving. |
