I have a love hate relationship with eBay. As a buyer I have found a LOT of rare and cool stuff but I'm always put off by people trying to rip you off with shipping or other stuff. As a seller I have been faced with the problem of zero feedback bidders putting in fake bids on my stuff and not bothering to complete the transaction. For instance I was auctioning off a Coke machine yesterday and someone bid $10,068. The bid pushed the machine to my reserve at $2,200 but would have ommitted all other bidders since the proxy would have kicked in and outbid all of them. Its the THIRD time something like this has happened to me. My girlfriend thinks I'm being stalked by a guy who I beat out at auction for something they really wanted. I can't think of any other reason why someone would be such an ass. Thanks, Chris P.S. Take a look at the bid history its interesting (note the cancelled bids): http://cgi6.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=1129616127&ed=986934325 On Wed, 11 April 2001, Joe Fortino wrote: > > well ebay is close to where i live and heard of them when the first came > out, LONG story short never liked the consept of the ebay. open door for > rip off and scam artists > > people made carzy money at the place and NOW its .com maddness ending slowly > > what goes up must come down, just like a vanagon ;) > > keep real > > > > VW addict > > ____________________________________________________________________ > Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1 Thanks, Chris Gronski '80 Westy "Pokey" - SLOPOKEY '87 Chevrolet Sprint - Ice Racer '91 Pontiac Firefly - Convertable www.vanagon.org & .ca www.gronski.com, .org, & .ca www.nineeleven.org & .ca |
