The Fake bidder doesn't care that their account is cancelled. They created the account for the express purpose of making fake bids. Yes, you get your money back but I think you have to wait 30 days or something. That isn't the point anyway the fake bidder "wins" the auction and the other serious bidders are forced out. I once lost out selling a coke machine to a serious local buyer for $800 when he was outbid by a fake bidder. When I went back to him saying the guy backed out he offered me $500 for the machine.
