My experience has been that the running the fridge on DC keeps it plenty cold. As a mattter-of-fact, it tends to need to be defrosted when I check or change back to propane. Many times when I stop I just leave it off if I'm going to be gone for an hour or less. I'll turn on the propane if I think I'll be longer. Never had any food spoil on me and it's plenty cold...
