Sorry about the last partial post,

anyhow, I replaced by thermostat with a cooler one and was wondering about the running temperature of the van. I suppose it should be around 200 degrees farenheit (so about 90 celcius). does that mean that the 87 degree thermostat is constantly opening and shutting as engine temperture fluctuates.

I had convinced myself that I was going to put the stock thermostat back in and now I am starting to worry that slight fluctuations in the thermostat (maybe it opens at 90 degree instead of 87) and changes in the the weather might be a problem. I had a overheating problem before changing this (but I did change the H2O pump at the same time).

so, any ideas? I guess I'll probably change it back out sometime, maybe at the end of the summer.
