It's supposed to. If it doesn't stop blinking, that's a problem. If you pull the level-sender connection and jumper across it, and the light keeps on blinking you have three basic choices: live with it, swap out the temp gauge, or repair the temp gauge as I've recently posted. If you decide on the third choice and can't find either of my msgs, let me know...
