You ought to be able to run the wires in via the headlight wiring grommets. My Caravelle had drivinglights on the now-removed bulbar, and the wires disappeared through the grill toward either side of the van. I didn't follow them as I may want to fit the lights on brackets, so left the wires tucked in behind the grill.
