At 12:20 PM -0700 4/12/01, Patrick Bryson rearranged electrons to say:

>However, I'd like to offer one correction. In America, low beams are 55W >(and hi beams are 60W), not 35.

Is this a federal standard? I had thought the wattage varied by make and model due to the installed wiring systems.

The Golf IV (like mine) has the rear fog setup, but in the US (North America, really) it's not enabled. You can wire it up yourself, though, and add the European headlight switch to control it. Rear fogs are legal here as long as it's left side only (not both).

Why it is connected in Europe and not NA makes no sense to me, especially since it's not hard to do it yourself. --
