I had a look at the aurora australis (SOUTHERN lights) from a nearby mountaintop. Almost colorless band of faint light stretching appx E-W. Not spectacular, but definitely there, and better than it was 11 years or so ago. Shame I couldn't take my (undrivable) Caravelle up to see it...
