Yes, I agree completley. A couple of years ago a friend of mine wanted to buy a later westy. I helped him completley scour the entire west coast summer. We looked MANY of them from 81 to about 90 or so. We saw many good ones, many that were good enuf for me but this guy was super picky. I eventually got frustrated and left him to his own devices. I met up with him finally last summer again and he still had not found one he wanted so we went looking at a few more. After a few failures we went down to Long Beach area to look at an 89 that seemed "too cheap". Well, it turned out to be a MINT white 89 westy with under 70K miles on it. Thing looked like it had never even been driven, he paid 6500 for it.


I would never have that kind of patience but for him it paid off.
