As noted in earlier pot, I used to keep the bikes on the front of the van. They don't block the lights enough to be concerned with. Though it is technically illegal, I was never pulled over and had officers check them (at my request). They do not block a significant amount of air to the radiator, unless you use a canvas bag to cover them, or some such fool thing (the bikes DO get covered with bugs, however). They do not significantly reduce your vision, especially if you remove the seats (depends on the size of the bikes, of course. Kids bikes would not bloke your vision at all).
