I've installed/removed mine about 3 times since I installed my I4 gas ('94) and have noticed that, in my van, the tin actually raises the oil temps! About 8 degrees C. FOr example when cruising at 100kph without the tin (ambient temp around 15C) the oil temp will be around 102-105C. With the tin this jumps to 110-115C. I was amazed that (I assume) the airflow over the oilpan had such a cooling effect. Alistair
