Whether the list is closed or not, it can still be accessed through the web. I only view posts through the web archives avoiding spam altogether. This allows me to view messages from any computer and respond from any computer. If I want a response, I would ask the list to respond to the list as I am "on the road". If I want p-mail, then I ask for p-mail and receive it in my e-mail box. I am in "nomail" mode on my e-mail address and never get mail from the list. Bottom line: I never see spam (unless it's by choice through the web archive). I can access the list from anywhere and respond from anywhere. Another $.02 cents worth JB |
Please note - During the past 17 years of operation, several gigabytes of
Vanagon mail messages have been archived. Searching the entire collection
will take up to five minutes to complete. Please be patient!
