Having recently received an enhgine from Boston Bob and sent one back, I can speak from experience.

He builds wood crates from aproox 1/2" plywood and white pine 2x3"s to closely wrap around the long block. If you are shipping more than a long block, you would likely need stiffer wood. The tope was screwed on in 10 placess with long deck screws and reinforced with short stubs of 2x3 insideand near the top forthe lid to ancor onto. I think the charge for a crate is $50. My only complaint about the crate was he used white wood 2x3"s and a couple of them split, but the cardboard and dense foam padding protected the motor more than adequately. I think Bob's email is trashed forthe near future and that's why he isn't responding. Pho0ne is the better route.
