Subject: 3rd stage cooling fan relay (for a/c)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi all;

The 90 westy a/c retrofit into my 87 continues; here's another question:

For Digifant Vanagons (and probably others) there is a 3rd stage cooling fan relay used with the a/c system. (Vans without a/c don't have this). Does anyone know what this relay is rated at? I have one with the exact same pinout from an 82 Quantum's a/c system that I'd like to use but it's rated at 40amps. What is the Vanagon's rated at? I know most of its fuses in that circuit are 50 amp fuses but would VW have made one of these relays rated at 50amps?

Thanks for any help you can provide;

Damian 87 Westy currently getting an a/c system and then a Tiico engine in June!
