The LED is to indicate that the propane flame is lit. It will not light if the fridge is on 110V or 12V. Another place to check for corrosion and to clean the terminals is the little black box behind the driver's seat on the door pillar. Quite often you will find that the brass connectors for the two fuses here are corroded and will limit current flow.
