Besides using filters and such, an easy way to NOT get this material
appearing is:

1. Use text mode only, not HTML. I only accept text, and while this can be
annoying (especially when someone forgets to trim the original message when
replying and I get all that HTML crap), it results in NO SURPRISES!

2. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER open any attachment unless the sender has contacted
you first in person to notify you.
